Wellness
Interactive uses the Internet to capture data. To keep your data
secure while in transmission, your data is encrypted using strong
encryption on the device before it is sent over the Internet. Certain
devices, including PalmOSTM
compatible handhelds, SMS (Short Message Service) mobile phones,
and Internet-capable mobile phones (the kind you would use to browse
a web site) are not able to transmit encrypted data. With respect
to these devices, the data is secured once it is stored in the Wellness
Interactive data center as described more fully below.
When you interact
with the service, the Wellness Interactive software first establishes
a "secure session" with our data center using Secure Socket
Layer (SSL). Wellness Interactive then uses this "secure session"
as you access your account. First you enter your user name and password,
which is irreversibly scrambled (using SHA-1, a hash technology)
and authenticated. The scrambled version of your password is used
for authentication and cannot be unscrambled by Wellness Interactive
or anyone else with access to our servers, ensuring there is no
unauthorized access to your account or your data.
Once it is stored in the Wellness Interactive data center, your
data can only be "unlocked" by using a password. If you
forget this password, Wellness Interactive offers a "lost password"
feature that emails the password to the address that signed up for
the service.
